The department of electronics is actively engaged in research work in various areas like different sets of composite devices comprising of BJT, FETs and MOSFETs, Microcontroller and Power electronics. The deparment has a dedicated laboratory facility and computer systems for research purpose. In the coming years the department intends to expand the area of research activities in multidisciplinary fields like Material Science Nanotechnology, Microwaves, Laser and Photonics.
The department has very shortly entered into the study of developing of sensors for Arsenic and Fluoride in collaboration with the departments of Water Management and Environmental Science.

The students, who wish to enroll themselves as research scholars and join the PhD program, will have to pass pre-PhD entrance test of Magadh University.
