BIOLOGY BLOCK

Department of Biotechnology was established in the year 2004 on first floor of “Biology Block” with a vision to attain excellence in education and research. At present the department has five well-equipped laboratories in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Tissue culture, Instrumentation and Computer. It imparts Three Year Degree Course, Post Graduate Course and Certificate course in Tissue Culture and it is associated with active research in the field of Microbiology, Tissue culture and Microbiology. Facilities of the department also serve external bodies and individuals in Project Work.

A team of well qualified and devoted teachers have been assigned the task of organizing and overseeing the efficient conduct of the course. Core faculties have been selected from various concerned subjects to impart purposeful teaching, experimentations and field work. The purpose is to provide a strong interdisciplinary approach to the subject.

Infrastructural Support

As a vocational and non-conventional course, Biotechnology requires a multi-disciplinary and multimedia approach of learning. The department is located in the specially constructed “Block” on the college campus. It has five well equipped laboratories, a conference and seminar hall, library and class rooms for its exclusive use. Besides, the college has facilities of research for post graduate students in Biotechnology.
